I NO UNDERSTAND !

I no understand

I really don’t understand the logic of living in Malaysia. The way to live in Malaysia is to accept that to live happily, you have to (be) a hypocrite, a racist and a religious bigot. After all, since the entire system is based on hypocrisy, race and religion, you are living in paradise if you are a racist and bigot.

By James Chin, The Malaysian Insider

On the 2009 Pakatan Rakyat Resolution: Brave new Malaysian identity emerging?

How have we come to this historical juncture in which the moral compass of the national leaders are misplaced or even lost and what we are seeing are the consequence of the capitalist system that is rearing its ugly immoral head. We have created monsters out of the freedom we give human beings to profit from the consumerist capitalist system we created out of the fear of socialism and Communism.

PENGKHIANAT MALAYSIA ... ?

Mahathir squandered RM100 bil, says new book

From Malaysiakini

Malaysia has squandered an estimated RM100 billion on financial scandals under the 22-year rule of Dr Mahathir Mohamad, according to a new book about the former prime minister.

According to Barry Wain, author of the soon-to-be launched ‘Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times’, direct financial losses amounted to about RM50 billion.

NONEThis doubled once the invisible costs, such as unrecorded write-offs, were taken into account. The RM100 billion total loss was equivalent to US$40 billion at then prevailing exchange rates.

Barry, who is a former editor of the Asian Wall Street Journal, says most of the scams, which included a government attempt to manipulate the international tin price and gambling by Bank Negara on global currency markets, occurred in the 1980s.

‘Malaysian Maverick’ is the first independent, full-length study of Mahathir, who retired in 2003 after more than two decades as premier. The book will be published globally next week by Palgrave Macmillan.

Wain writes that the Mahathir administration, which took office in 1981 with the slogan, “clean, efficient, trustworthy”, was almost immediately embroiled in financial scandals that “exploded with startling regularity”.

By the early 1990s, he says, cynics remarked that it had been “a good decade for bad behaviour, or a bad decade for good behaviour”.

Secret military deal with US

The book also reveals that:

  • Mahathir, despite his nationalistic rants, signed a secret security agreement with the United States in 1984 that gave the Americans access to a jungle warfare training school in Johor and allowed them to set up a small-ship repair facility at Lumut and a plant in Kuala Lumpur to repair C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
  • Mahathir used a secret fund of his ruling Umno to turn the party into a vast conglomerate with investments that spanned almost the entire economy.
  • Mahathir’s Umno financed its new Putra World Trade Centre headquarters in Kuala Lumpur partly with taxpayers money, by forcing state-owned banks to write off at least RM140 million in interest on Umno loans.

Wain, who is now a writer-in-residence at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies in Singapore, however credits Mahathir with engineering the country’s economic transformation, deepening industrialisation and expanding Malaysia’s middle class.

But Mahathir had undermined state institutions, permitted the spread of corruption and failed to provide for Malaysia’s future leadership, he says.

Combined they could easily amount to the hundreds of billions of ringgits!

35. Wastages and forward trading of Petronas oil in the 1990s based on the low price of oil then. Since the accounts of Petronas are for the eyes of Prime Minister only, we have absolutely no idea of the amount. Whatever amount, you bet it is COLLOSSAL!

In Time Asia magazine issue on March 15 2004, South East Asian economist at Morgan Stanley in Singapore Daniel Lian, figures “that the country may have lost as much as U$$100 billion (RM320 billion) since the early 1980s to corruption.” Mind you, this is only corruption and it does not include wastages!

All the rakyat’s hard earned money down the drain and they have the audacity to raise fuel prices and asking the people to change their lifestyles.

SEJARAH AYAT AL KURSI

Salam semua

SEJARAH AYAT KURSI

Ayat ini diturunkan setelah hijrah. Semasa penurunannya ia
Rasullah s. a. w. dengan segera

s. a. w. bersabda bermaksud:

Sabda baginda lagi;

Allah sebagaimana DIA memelihara Nabi Muhammad.
eloklah anda membaca ayat Kursi 100 kali, insya-Allah mudah-mudahan anda
sekeluarga terhindar daripada gangguan lahir dan batin. Barang siapa
membaca ayat Al-Kursi apabila berbaring di tempat tidurnya, Allah
mewakilkan 2 orang Malaikat memeliharanya hingga subuh.

Barang siapa
membaca ayat Al-Kursi diakhir tiap-tiap sembahyang Fardhu, Allah
menganugerahkan dia hati-hati orang yang bersyukur perbuatan2 orang yang
benar, pahala nabi2 juga Allah melimpahkan padanya rahmat. Barang siapa
membaca ayat Al-Kursi sebelum keluar rumahnya, maka Allah mengutuskan
70,000 Malaikat kepadanya, mereka semua memohon keampunan dan mendoakan
baginya.
memberi pertolongan kepadanya Dari Abdullah bin 'Amr r. a. , Rasullullah
s. a. w. bersabda,

" SAMPAIKANLAH PESANKU BIARPUN SATU AYAT...."

MATI, PERINGATAN PENTING !

Salam semua

Dalam satu wasiat Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. kepada Ibnu Umar (Abdullah) r.a.

sekali-kali kita melakukan kejahatan.

akhirnya menjadikan diri teramat sibuk.

Hati menjadi keras

Rasulullah s.a.w. pada penghujung hayatnya, pernah memanggil menantu
merangkap sepupu baginda iaitu Sayidina Ali bin Abi Talib. Baginda
mewasiatkan kepadanya: Wahai Ali!
berani pula melakukan dosa-dosa besar.

pelaksanaan hukum-hukum Islam dan Sunnah (hadis) Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.

Justeru, kamu mestilah sentiasa berakhlak mulia, kerana sesungguhnya

Renung-renungkanlah wahai saudara-saudaraku sekalian!

LAKONAN TERBAIK BADUT-BADUT UMNO ...

Monday, November 9, 2009

TUAN GURU NIK AZIZ - bukan mahataik ..

PAS spiritual adviser Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat has maintained that the Islamist party should remain with Pakatan Rakyat (PR), while renewing his disdain for Umno over the Perak imbroglio.
The frail but fiery leader also gave his blessings on the 10 resolutions passed during yesterday’s inaugural PR convention, held here at the Syuen Hotel.
He told a congregation of some 600 delegates from the loose coalition’s three parties — PAS, DAP and PKR — to accept and adopt the resolutions, which mainly stressed on strengthening the newborn alliance.
He rejected the practice of corruption and money politics amongst the Barisan Nasional parties — singling out Umno in particular — and indicated that the PR, with its resounding pledge to weed out corruption, was the better alternative.
“We should sanction these resolutions and we will receive our reward. We are not on this earth to receive money but ‘pahala’ (reward) because money is materialism,” he said.
He added that in death, only the physical body of a person dies while the soul remains.
“As Muslims, whether we are Malay Muslims or Chinese Muslims or any other, we must protect our souls. We feed our bodies rice but it must be ‘halal’ — the rice is for the body while the ‘halal’ is for the soul,” he said, adding that anything bought with “haram” money would make the item “haram” as well.Nik Aziz also explained that in the world belonging to Allah, no two people were the same, whether in physique or beliefs and values.
“I have 10 children and 52 grandchildren, and none of them are the same. After all, if all women and men looked the same, then we would never be able to tell which ones are our wives,” he joked.
As such, Nik Aziz said the differences of opinions and misunderstandings within the PR alliance was normal, for each party and each individual had their own uniqueness.
He called Umno stupid for getting angry with PAS and DAP over the issue of non-Muslims quoting verses from the Quran.
“The verses in the sacred Quran contain the basics of creating unity amongst mankind. Umno is stupid for getting angry just because a non-Muslim is trying to understand the Quran,” he said.He said the birth of the PR alliance, and programmes like yesterday’s convention, were methods of creating such unity amongst mankind.
“In life, there is a method for everything. When we cook certain dishes, the method lies in the recipe — we cannot use the same ingredient for every dish,” he said.
At a ceramah in Chemor near here later last night, the Kelantan mentri besar continued to lambast Umno for its practices.
He said the Malay-centric party rejected true Islam and instead, practiced a “cacat” or handicapped version of the religion.
“When Islam is ‘cacat’, then Allah is made ‘cacat’, too,” he said to the crowd of over a thousand, who had gathered despite the endless drizzle to listen in rapt attention to the soft-spoken PAS leader.Nik Aziz also chastised Umno for its illegal power grab in Perak, and shook his head at how they had stolen away what was not rightfully given to them.
“They can go as far as to enter the state legislative assembly to drag the Speaker from his seat and then later take his robe too,” he said.
He said the post of mentri besar was one that was given to an individual by the people, which was made possible through the choices given to mankind by Allah Himself.
“How smart, this Umno, to simply steal away the people of Perak as their own,” he said, in sarcasm.
The three parties are to formalise the alliance next month in a national convention under a Common Policy Framework (CPF) being undertaken by a team led by Datuk Zaid Ibrahim.
All three parties had a similar coalition in the 1999 general elections called the Barisan Alternatif but it broke down two years later when PAS insisted on its Islamic state idea, leading DAP to break away from the partnership.

THE MALAYSIA OF TOMORROW

By Nurul Izzah Anwar

AUG 31 — I can’t say that I know Datuk Zaid Ibrahim very well. Our past encounters have been limited to a fleeting hello in front of the steps of my alma mater, the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies in 2006, another chat during a reception in honour of Datuk Ambiga Sreevanesagan in June and, most recently, at the PKR’s recent EGM. It’s amazing, but perhaps unsurprising that he has in these three years evolved from an ambiguous reformist in Umno into the conscience of all Malaysians.

I had always been impressed by his outspokenness, and his willingness to fearlessly voice out his views on issues of national importance is nothing short of inspirational. Zaid does not mince his words where many hesitate to call a spade a spade, especially where it matters the most.

An articulate Malay speaking out for a multiracial and progressive Malaysia is terribly important in this current political climate. For our own community, Zaid epitomises how the Malays might redefine ourselves, to re-imagine a world where we do not think that we are inferior or threatened but are rather confident in whom we are.

In reading Zaid’s book Saya Pun Melayu, I sense the need for Malays to embrace a new paradigm on what it means to be Malay. Many indeed are doing so and this is a heartening. “Malay” need no longer carry connotations of dependency on the state, insecurity or the crippling feeling alienation and the lack of self-worth.

The word “Malay” can and must eventually mean a call to embrace a broader Malaysian identity, along with a true, inclusive nationalism that is proud of who we are individually but also in what we have accomplished together. We can be sure of our identities and yet still be a part of something greater than all of us — and this is something all the ethnic groups in Malaysia ought to aspire to.

Zaid’s book highlights that fact that we need to look beyond the stereotypes and take an objective, albeit positive look at our community’s accomplishments. We have made great strides in business, the arts, education and the professions. Our success extends from Lembah Pantai where Malays own vibrant businesses selling products made by Malays to the flourishing nasi lemak stalls in Kota Baru.

We attend leading universities throughout the world, increasingly through our own merit. We can count internationally recognised choreographers, painters, cartoonists, writers, and film directors amongst our numbers.

Beyond these markers, our success can more often that not be seen at home through our everyday acts of compassion and sensitivity to others, which spread to our fellow Malaysians to become a national virtue. The kindness shown towards our children, parents and neighbours is perhaps one of the most important signs of who we Malays are as a community. These are real achievements that no one can or would want to take from us.

I’m not denying that we still have a long way to go in moving our community forward, nor am I unmindful that a lot of our successes would not have been in possible without the NEP and its institutions. However, it has become patently obvious that these structures are now holding the Malays back, and that the world has changed since then.

The Malays and, as a-matter-of-fact, all Malaysians need to change as well if we want to remain relevant in this world. We need to step away from our obsession with all things racial and realise that the project of nation-building is not a zero-sum game. Malaysia can never succeed until and unless its entire people feel like they are truly a part of it.

Why then does the old paradigm of ethnic insecurity persist? Why does suspicion and acrimony towards our fellow Malaysians and they towards us still linger? Why are mainstream newspapers calling for ethnic conflict, accusing minority communities of all sorts of ludicrous plots?

The sad reality is that these myths are being perpetuated by Umno and Barisan Nasional for their own gain. The fact is that Umno wants to keep the Malay community under its suzerainty forever. They do this by focusing on what we have supposedly not achieved, rather than acknowledging our gains and potential.

They claim to want to protect and uplift the Malay community, but all they have been doing for the last few years is playing on their fears and prejudices. The same can be said for the Barisan components with the non-Malays. This glass-half-empty mentality is being used by Umno/BN to protect each other and to ward off challenges to their stranglehold on power.

We’ve seen from the case of Zaid of how Umno demonises anyone who steps out of the pattern of complete loyalty to the party and who have different ideas on how to improve the livelihoods of Malays and Malaysians. We have also as of late seen their scare tactics in action. They have labelled people as “traitors” for calling for a new path of development for Malaysia. They prefer to protect their interests rather than allow the Malaysian people — especially the Malays — to benefit from reform, less corruption and more inclusion.

Umno also regrettably perpetuates the myth that the Malay community is perpetually under threat from their non-Malay counterparts, and that Umno is the only party that can save them from this supposed “servitude”. This, rather than anything else, is why race relations have gotten worse in Malaysia.

You cannot expect harmony in a country where its largest ethnic group is constantly bombarded with the message that the minorities are supposedly out to get them and take away their rights. Yet, they chose to follow this tactic since they believe in the short term this will strengthen Umno and bring Malays back to the party.

They use these “attacking” tactics because they cannot offer anything else. They have shown that they would prefer to entrench those in power rather than allow new ideas and reforms to increase our chances for greater success. There is a real danger that their short-sightedness may cost future generations of Malaysians dearly.

The fact is that Malays have nothing to fear. We are demographically the largest ethnic group in Malaysia and the birth rate is going to keep it that way. Our position in the constitution is enshrined and this isn’t going to change either.

That is what Umno and the Malay extremists do not get, and what the community as a whole needs to understand. The non-Malays and Malays who challenge Umno are not seeking to reduce the position of the Malays in anyway, but to defend and uplift all Malaysians. We have to understand that we are all tied together and that we all have a stake in the land. We cannot survive individually as Malays, Chinese or Indians but as Malaysians.

Our non-Malay fellow citizens are not “challenging” our rights or “insulting” or culture and religion — rather they are calling for our nascent nationhood to be allowed to achieve it’s full potential than for us to remain stuck in our ethnic and mental ghettos. The liberals and moderates amongst the non-Malays also suffer from the depredations of extremists within their own communities — they deserve our support as well. The wave of reactionary politics that is engulfing us can only be turned back if progressive Malaysians stand firm against their threats and untruths.

While it is true that much more needs to be done to address those who have not benefited — for all Malaysians — the focus on what we don’t have rather on what we have accomplished only undermines us. We need to imagine a better future, for Malays and Malaysians — this will incidentally make it easier for all of us to achieve what we might lack.

The Malaysia of tomorrow cannot be one in which we are blinded by fear and negativity. The first step in imagining and defining a better future for all of us is to open our eyes and speak out like Zaid and others like him.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarokatuh

Tuan/Puan bakal-bakal pengundi sekalian,

Alhamdulillah.

Undilah Sdr. Saleh bin Man. Undilah PAS dan PR demi keadilan Islam.

“Ya Allah, saksikanlah. Hamba sesungguhnya sudah menyampaikan.”

1MALAYSIA -MENTERI KELENTONG LAGI !

Natural forest cover figures suspect

IN a recent report, Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainudin denied claims by some international NGOs that Malaysia is destroying its natural forests to plant oil palm. He also asserted that 60 % of Malaysia was covered by natural forests.

These are incredulous claims. According to the book, Deforesting Malaysia, by Jomo K. S., Chang Y. T. and Khoo K. J., only 56% of Malaysia was covered by natural forests in 1991. Since then, there has been rampant destruction of natural forests for conversion to commodity crops, for hydro-electric and water supply dam-building projects and other types of land development. In addition, logging activities have degraded our forests.

Once a tropical forest is destroyed it takes millions of years for comparable biodiversity to evolve again. In 2008, Malaysia gained new notoriety around the world when it emerged as the country with the third longest list of plants and animals threatened with extinction in the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red Alert of Threatened Species.

I beseech the deputy minister to tell Malaysians and the world by what magic has Malaysia been able to destroy her forests so aggressively on the one hand and on the other hand increase its reported cover of natural forests year by year?
